31.3 Polygon Glassware
A body of 31 individual glass elements designed to be arranged into a multiplicity of compositions. 31.3 Polygon Glassware is the result of an exploration into geometric tiling and ancient Czech glassmaking formulas. The forms of 31.3 derive from particularity known as the five-fold tiling problem. The problem was originally solved by using two shapes, however 31.3 provides an alternative solution by offering three distinct shapes that can be infinitely arranged to achieve the same result. The colour of the glassware comes from ancient formulas created in the Czech glassmaking tradition, some of which date back the 1600s. 31.3 comes in unique sets of 31 individual pieces.
